Milton Hershey School
Video Kiosks, Sensors, Touchscreen
Created at Bluecadet. Designed by Jillian Hammer & Aaron Richardson. Project documentation by Dan King.
This project covers two experiences: Life at MHS and Spartan Memories.
Spartan Memories is a pair of interactive applications that allow users to explore the history of Milton Hershey School. A projection in the North Lounge is filled with images of students from throughout MHS’s history. As visitors interact with the connected touchscreen to explore each era in-depth, the projection filters to focus on displaying images from that era. The interactive kiosk also features explorable listings for featured Alumni.
Life at MHS showcases video interviews of MHS students on five pillars. It utilizes an ultrasonic sensor positioned below the screen to detect visitors within a defined zone. When a visitor is detected, the application switches from ambient content to play the full interview.
All applications are built in Cinder and supported by a CMS in Wordpress.
